Our Amazing Creator
According to the words of one medical doctor, if you are a person of average size, every 24 hours, you perform the following functions:
“Your heart beats 103,689 times; your blood travels 168,000,000 miles. You breathe 23,040 times; you inhale 438 cubic feet of air. You eat between 3 and 4 pounds of food, drink 3 quarts of liquid [approx. 2.8 liters] and perspire about 2 pints [approx. 1 liter] through your skin. Your body maintains a steady temperature of 98.60 F under all weather conditions. You use…over 700 muscles…7,000,000 brain cells…”
Amazing, isn’t it? No wonder, David could say, “I praise you because I am fearfully [or remarkably] and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” [Psalm 139:14].
Let us remember this body of ours belongs to God. We must use every part of it to serve him, starting with our thought life [Phil 4:8; Rom 6:13; 1 Cor 6:19-20]. That would be the fitting way of saying, “Thank you” to the One who has not only created us, but also redeemed us from our sins.
