This is an antique pocket jeweler/diamond trader balance scale for weighing gold, diamonds and precious stones. The portable brass scale comes in the original leather case. The 11 weights are stamped brass. The box holds the pans, beam and weights separate from each other and safe during travel. The box is well made with a taped hinge and hook locks on the front. The lining is cowhide (worn). Size: 5¾ in. beam length; 2 3/8 in. pans; 6½ x 3¼ in. box. Condition: very good with normal signs of time. I could find no maker mark on this piece.
