Difficult to get newer find! A stunning and unique specimen of blue celestite on yellow calcite from Darai Laman, Badghis Province, Afghanistan. This 2024 find was immediately reserved for high end mineral dealers but a large majority ended up being confiscated by the Tiban when miners tried to move it out of the country. It had to be smuggled out inconspicuously in small lots to successful get past the taliban controlled border. The fully natural gem specimen features a lustrous and terminated blue celestite (celestine) crystal on a matrix of shimmery golden yellow calcite. The raw calcite contrasts beautifully with the blue color zoned blue Celestite and is also UV fluorescent. An aesthetic, rare display specimen measuring approx 5 by 4.5 by 3.5cm
