This hard-to-find vintage 1999 figurine sculpture entitled Summer Dresses is a beautiful and collectible piece by renowned American sculptor, Brenda Joysmith.
This lovely figurine depicts two young African American girls, perhaps sisters, wearing summer dresses. The older girl stands behind and is helping tie the sash bow on the younger girl's dress as the younger girl in front works on braiding her hair.
This 1999 sculpture is from the Our Song Collection, a series of both realistic and idealized sculptures by Brenda Joysmith that celebrate the lives and experiences of African American women and is inspired by her own experiences, stories and photographs of the women in her family.
