The Sandwiched Glass bottle has a elongated tapering cylindrical form. The light beige yellow glass is suffused with dark brown spots and lines of striations in strands of various shades of beige. The base is flat showing the swirls of the glass. The opening is matched with an adventurine cap. This process of making this bottle is probably very similar to the methods established by the Imperial Glass Works , but a later production during the Republican Period in China during the 1920's and 1930's. he green cap is a good contrast to the light beige yellow body.
In truth, it may be just as easy to carve an agate bottle because these bottles were very difficult to make. The glass maker had to first do the striations and spots and then as the glass had to be first striated and then given darker patches when the object was at the molten stage, before blowing to form the bottle.
Dating: Chinese Republican Period, early 20th Century
Dimension: 2 inches high
