Large and impressive elongated swirl ring made in Israel utilizing the electroform method, so that it is lightweight relative to its size and therefore comfortable to wear.
ABOUT ELECTROFORM:
The electroform process is complicated but basically it involves designing and creating a template (mandrel), usually of wax. Layers of pure sterling silver are applied to the mandrel with electricity. When the electrostatic process is complete, the wax is drained out via a vent hole, leaving a silver casing over a hollow core. The resulting jewelry is therefore much lighter in weight than solid silver making it more comfortable to wear, especially with earrings. However, because the process is so lengthy and time-consuming, the prices for electroform jewelry are actually usually higher
