This item is a vintage wooden Bread Box. It's from the brand Woodpecker Woodware. Hand painted & patented in Japan.
There are small magnets, to hold the lid closed. It also has holes in the back for mounting.
The beautiful hand painted design, with roosters on the front, make this bread box very unique.
I'm not sure what the number stamps on the bottom indicate.
It has one small split out of the wood on the right side (see last photo). There are also some light scratches, & a ding or two. But, all in all, this item is in very good vintage collector condition.
