The origin of torans can be traced to Puranas (Hindu mythological work). Architectural torans or bandanwaars are used to decorate the main entrance of a home. The main idea behind decorating one's home with a toran is to please & attract the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi. The beautiful embroidered door hangings which are also known as torans have special significance as decorative accessories. Torans are the first thing that welcomes your guests as they step into your home or place of business. Torans not only enhance the charm of a main entrance but also give a friendly warm welcome.
From a smoke-free, dog-free home but we do have 1 short-haired cat.
