This is an older sweetgrass trivet I purchased at an estate sale in Charleston, SC many years ago from an elderly lady…& now I am the elderly lady. It’s in excellent condition. I displayed it, I did not use it as a trivet. I have collected many Charleston sweetgrass baskets & I find the earlier ones are my favorite. The weaving is tighter on them, not as bulky as some of the newer examples.
